A Solitary War: A Diplomat’s Chronicle of the Iraq War and Its Lessons – Ambassador Heraldo Muñoz

IPI held a launch and discussion of a new book by H.E. Mr. Heraldo Muñoz, Permanent Representive of Chile to the UN, entitled A Solitary War: A Diplomat’s Chronicle of the Iraq War and Its Lessons.

In A Solitary War, Ambassador Muñoz examines the United States’ decision to act unilaterally on Iraq in 2003 and chronicles the repercussions of this choice for the US and the rest of the world. As a case study, the book offers an explanation of why a multilateral approach to foreign policy, including reliance on international organizations such as the United Nations, is essential in today’s increasingly interconnected world. A Solitary War makes a compelling argument for rebuilding trust among the international community and returning to a truly cooperative global order.
