Enhancing Counterterrorism Capacities and Cooperation in the Horn of Africa

The International Peace Institute recently hosted a lunchtime policy discussion on “Enhancing Counterterrorism Capacities and Cooperation in the Horn of Africa,” with speaker Ambassador Hiruy Amanuel, Head of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development’s (IGAD) Capacity-Building Programme Against Terrorism.

Moderated by Eric Rosand of the Center on Global Counterterrorism Cooperation, the forum also featured remarks by Mike Smith, Executive Director of the UN Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate. Attendees of the event included representatives from the academic, UN, and NGO communities.
