This year’s New York Seminar examined the recent political transitions that have taken place across the Middle East and North Africa, with special attention given to Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, and Syria.

The societal upheaval that has swept through these countries continues to redefine the political landscape of the region producing new and complex challenges for not only these nations themselves, but for the region and the broader international community. The seminar seeks to provide thoughtful and timely analysis of these events to facilitate the productive diplomatic efforts of the United Nations community. Bolstering this analysis will be a round of negotiation simulations meant to equip participants with tangible skills to successfully navigate the complexities of multilateral negotiations.
