IPI Hosts Retreat with the Global Health and Foreign Policy Initiative

On 16 – 18 January, IPI, (formerly International Peace Academy) hosted a small high-level retreat on the rising importance of global health issues on the international foreign policy agenda. The event was part of a series of workshops and meetings of the seven countries of the Global Health and Foreign Policy Initiative – Brazil, France, Indonesia, Norway, Senegal, South Africa and Thailand – which aims to raise the profile of health issues on the global foreign policy agenda.

The International Struggle Over Iraq: Politics in the UN Security Council 1980 -2005 written by David M. Malone, High Commisssioner of Canada and Former President of the International Peace Institute (IPI) (formerly International Peace Academy), was recently nominated for the 2006-07 Lionel Gelber Prize – an award that selects “the best books on international affairs” published in English regardless of country of origin. IPI Occasional Paper Wins Outstanding Academic Title Award

The IPI Occasional Paper, The Democratic Republic of Congo: Economic Dimensions of War and Peace by Michael Nest with François Grignon and Emizet F. Kisangani, was selected by Choice Magazine as an Outstanding Academic Title for 2006.
