Mapping Challenges and Response Capacities
Questions about the capacity of Africa’s institutions for crisis response need to start with a clear assessment of the crises to which they are expected to respond. IPI is partnering with leading analysts to map current and potential threats to human and international security in Africa as a whole and in Africa’s sub-regions. This exercise focuses on assessment of inter-linkages between issues, identification of knowledge gaps, and evaluation of present institutional response capacity. This work will result in a series of working papers, monographs, and books between 2007 and 2009.
