Outreach and Advocacy: Africa’s Partnership with the UN
African institutions are working hard to develop their capacity to anticipate, prevent, and respond to crises, but continuing attention and investment from the UN will be necessary in support of such efforts. IPI will work closely with the UN, the Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the UN, the Africa Group, African military advisers of permanent missions, and key donor governments and missions to the UN to continue to raise the visibility of African issues in New York and beyond. IPI’s advocacy work will take advantage of its exceptional network of Africa-related institutions and experts to convene Africa-focused policy fora and special events to inform debate and promote understanding of critical challenges facing the continent.
