She spoke on advancing the rule of law in Zimbabwe during an African Leaders Series event at the International Peace Institute on December 19th.

“The [International Criminal Court] is good for Africa,” said Dr. Mohamed Marzouki, president of the Tunisian Republic, during a presentation at the International Peace institute. “This is the official position of Tunisia.” At the standing-room only IPI event on September 25, Dr. Marzouki reflected on the birth and possible death of the Arab Spring and, along with it, democracy in Africa.

The President, who took office in May, outlined steps that he was taking to bring people together in his country, which was convulsed by violence in the six months following the November election when the loser, former President Laurent Gbagbo, refused to step down.
