As part of its evening events series Beyond the Headlines, IPI recently invited Gary J. Bass, Associate Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University and author of Freedom’s Battle: The Origins of Humanitarian Intervention (Knopf 2008), to speak on “The Case for Humanitarian Intervention.”
A former reporter for The Economist, Mr. Bass spoke candidly on this controversial international issue and engaged in a lively discussion with invited guests, including experts from Permanent Missions to the United Nations and other members of the UN community.
