IPI 777 Club Welcomes Mogens Lykketoft

As part of its monthly 777 Club receptions, the International Peace Institute hosted the President-elect of the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Mogens Lykketoft of Denmark, as the guest of honor on June 26.

Mr. Lykketoft will take office on September 16, 2015. He formerly served as his country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, and Minister for Taxation.

IPI Vice President Hardeep Singh Puri and a large gathering welcomed the incoming President, including diplomats from permanent missions to the UN, UN staff members, representatives from NGOs, academia and the New York foreign policy community, and members of the UN press corps.

Among the Permanent Representatives to the UN who attended the reception were:

  • Ambassador David Donoghue of Ireland;
