WEIF Concluded by Calling for Key Role of Entrepreneurs in Development and Peace

The third annual World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF) was held concurrently with the 18th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference (ABIC) from November 11-13th in Manama, Bahrain. Participants in the forum called on young entrepreneurs to lead in sustainable development and peace.

IPI MENA Director Nejib Friji moderated the ministerial panel, which featured ministers of youth and sport from Bahrain and Palestine, the Malaysian Minister of Entrepreneur Development, as well as Mali’s Minister of Institutional Reforms and Civil Society.

During the closing session, Mr. Friji moderated a final panel and presented a statement sent by UN Secretary-General António Guterres through IPI MENA for the conclusion of WEIF 2019.

The final panel featured H.E Ahmed Abul Gheith, Secretary-General of the Arab League, H.H. Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, H.E. Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Secretary General of the Arab Union of Chambers, Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of UNIDO’s Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain, and UNIDO Managing Director Fatou Haidara.
