The 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) kicks off on November 30th in Dubai. Over the next two weeks, representatives of national governments, businesses, organizations, and civil society will try to make progress on averting, minimizing, and addressing the adverse impacts of climate change. Negotiators face a challenge in achieving ambitious outcomes in the context of an ever-narrowing pathway to keep warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

This year, IPI will be represented by President and CEO Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein and Director of Global Initiatives and Head of Peace, Climate, and Sustainable Development Jimena Leiva Roesch along with members of the climate team.
