Exactly two months ahead of COP28, on October 10th, IPI co-hosted a virtual roundtable discussion with the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture entitled “Unlocking Solutions to Ensure the Future of Global Food Security.”
Scientists, policymakers, private sector representatives, and philanthropists convened to address the transformation of food systems to ensure human security amid the ensuing climate crisis. Speakers looked ahead to COP28, focusing on putting agriculture, food systems, and climate at the forefront of the agenda and discussing best practices to forge pathways for a sustainable, equitable, and resilient global food system.
Key speakers included: Kristofer Hamel, Head of Food Systems Partnerships for COP28; Andy Jarvis, Director of Future of Food of the Bezos Earth Fund; Marcela Quintero, Associate Director General of Research, Strategy, and Innovations at the Alliance Bioversity International; Jessica Fanzo, Director of the Food for Humanity Initiative and Interim Director of the International Research Institute for Climate and Society at Columbia University.
