Staff Bitania Tadesse
Bitania Tadesse is a peace and security researcher and policy analyst who focuses on conflict management and peacebuilding in Africa and African multilateral institutions.
Before joining the International Peace Institute, she was program director at Amani Africa in Addis Ababa. She has worked with various international and pan-African organizations, including at the Norwegian Refugee Council AU Liaison Office, with the AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security and Save the Children International pan-African Office.
She has worked extensively in research and advocacy in women, peace and security, and humanitarian and development policies primarily focusing on African Union-led initiatives and programs. Over the years, she has worked closely with various stakeholders including multilateral partners and international organizations.
Bitania received her MSc in African Studies from Oxford University, holds a BA in Political Science and International Relations, and a MA in Peace and Security from Addis Ababa University.
