The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) office is a regional office of the International Peace Institute. The office was established in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain, to promote policy research on global peace and security within the Middle East and North Africa region.

The MENA office will:

• Focus on issues of the region that contribute to the international community‘s efforts to strengthen the collective capability regarding conflict prevention, multilateral diplomacy, mediation, peacekeeping, and peacebuilding;
• Address critical challenges within the region, such as armed conflict, state fragility, transnational organized crime, terrorism, and energy security;
• Seek regional partnerships, in support of peace, security, and development.

Interreligious Dialogue for Peace

IPI’s MENA office has a long-standing project on interreligious dialogue for peace to counter extremist narratives couched in religion. As part of an interreligious alliance, IPI MENA hosts annual conferences that bring together religious representatives and leaders to discuss solutions to radicalization, violence, and extremism conducted in the name of religion.
